Hello Everyone
How are you?
I hope you're doing well and leading a sound life. I bring you another one of my artwork today. This one is also a digital drawing fan art of a monster of Splinterlands. I drew this one to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands. I'll add the link to the contest at the end. Check it out if you feel interested. I'll be sharing the process of my drawing in this post. About my tools and how I drew a fan art version of the original card that is quite different from the original. I hope you like my version of Gorgeous Lemell.
The monster I drew today is named Lemell Refugee. I used my laptop, graphics tablet, stylus drawing touch pen, and a drawing software named ibis Paint. I'll attach both my drawing and the original image below and you can check it out. I'll also add the link to the contest at the end of my post. So, let's get started:-
My Drawing
Original Image
At first, I sketched the structure of her body. This is a crucial part of the outcome. Took me some time to accurately measure the body position and then apply her arms to it accordingly. Once I was done with this part of the sketch, I started to add the other parts such as her eyes, lips, nose, breasts, and finally her hair.
After that, I sketched the base structure of her dress and then added the details and designs.
Now that the sketch is done, it's time to put in the colors to make the sketch a complete drawing. I began by adding the primary colors to her facial area. After adding the lighter color layer I then added another deep color. I used watercolor in these two layers as they are easy to blend.
Then I used a smooth brush a 40% transparency using oil color to draw the shades. The oil color mode smoothens the color to give her face a smooth glowing texture. It's also easy to give the 3D vibe for certain parts such as her nose.
Then in this step, I colored her hair. For that, I drew some purple strokes with a thin pen. And then some with the same color but a little lighter version. After I was done, I used the spray brush tool to put the white shade on her hair. Then I began to draw the weapon and the shield parts of her clothing.
While putting the primary colors on her clothes, I also used the spray brush tool to make the colors blend. Such as the shield you can notice around her hip.
And with all the colors added the drawing is almost done. It now only needs some final touches.
Final Image
With the finalizing strokes and with the colors blended. Here is the final result:-
I hope you like my work and I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comment section about my work. Your suggestions and criticism will help me to improve my skills further.
