The legendary Daarge Deadblast: splinterlands art contest

Hi fellow artist! I'm so thrilled to join this week's @splinterlands art contest.

I have always wanted to participate but I was quite unsure of the character I’d love to draw or one that resonated with me well. Until I saw the legendary daarge deadblast, and I was captivated by this character, a male figure with a wolf-like head. I don't really draw male figures or animals so I thought this would be fun to draw and also help me to practice drawing male figures.

Material used:
Mechanical hb pencil,
Crayon
Markers

Process:

I started by sketching out my drawing. I decide to make the character figure a more realistic male figure, with a gangster vibe. I left the head as a wolf but changed the hairstyle a little. For the body, I drew a huge male body wearing two jackets but left the buttons open to reveal the chest and abdomen. For the bottom part, I draw him wearing a trouser with a rope around his waist as in the reference photo.
I drew the cape on the jacket, and I added a cross-body bag strap to the chest area. I draw the tattoo on his chest instead of his arm like in the reference photo.

I start to add colours, starting from the face. I couldn't get the exact skin colours used in the reference photo so I used similar colours. I used crayons to colour and markers for darker hues and shadows, I also used a pencil on the crayon to create shadows as well. Regardless, I used crayons mostly because of their vibrant colours and their ease of control I like makers.

I shaded from light to dark. I'm not good with colouring but I guess that's the best way to colour.

I wanted to make a glowing blue fire in his palm, but, I didn't have anything to highlight so I tried to colour it with two tones of blue. I made the flame small at first then I made it bigger. Unfortunately, here is the result .
