Splinterlands Art Contest!
Hello guys, it's the last day to post you entry for this week. I'm cutting it close this time because I was a bit busy working on more blogs this month. Anyway, as for this week I decided to draw Vera Salacia from water splinter as my entry for this week. I hope you like it and enjoy the process below :)

Minor skirt update
This was not supposed to be an entry for this week because this one had major anatomical issues after drawing a rough sketch. I actually gave up on this and but the next day my brain decided to work properly again so I was able to fix the issues that persisted earlier. Once. I was done with that I made proper lineart on my Ibis paint and started painting.
Now if you look at the colour pallette on this one the cloths are in blue so ideally if the skin looks orange it's gonna create a nice contrast with the blue. So with that in mind I used the golden hour colour pallette for rendering the skin. It was not hard work since since is in minority here or maybe is balanced in areas wise with the clothing.
The clothing part was fun to paint. I used airbrush triangle to render it fast. Thankfully it worked but the skirt design, I was not satisfied with that. It was very basic like trousers so not much details were added on that. Today I redesigned the whole thing and came up with a better version, a more realistic one. The final rendered product was better than I expected so I kept this layer on top of the old one incase if I want to go back. After that I rendered the metallic areas of her armour and then her tattoos on her shoulders.
The next part, the background was the important part. I wanted to make it look cool so I decided to add a whirlpool wave formation behind her. After playing with the opacity, blending and smudging I managed to create the wave pattern but the next part makes it a lot better. I added white highlights on it and decided to make it glow as well. Best decision so far xd. After that I added some details like wave splashing around the clothes, bubbles in the surrounding and water droplets on her clothes etc. After than I polished some areas and do note that I decided to omit the hand gloves because once I added it I noticed that the blue-ornage complimentary factor was significantly reduced because of the dark gloves so I ditched it. After than I applied some blur infront of the waves to create depth and the painting was finally done 👍.
