Hello everybody ! C: im thisnewgirl aaaand this is day 17 of my personal daily pixelart challenge, although I can't always do it daily on the days I can't come up with any idea, I usually doodle and silhouette, or just go for long walks... the hardest part of the long challenge is, imagining, so I try to detox my mind from social media and just go see .... green things? touching grass? walking a lot usually helps even if it leaves me exhausted.
the little parakeet has been absorbing a lot of my time, and my heart, heart melted by a parakeet, he is more sociable now, I must take care to change his bandage every day, task that is not easy at all because with his little nuggets he pushes himself to run away and avoid being bandaged, although he does not like it I must do it so that his wing improves and with some luck he becomes functional?
Having a winged friend around I wanted to make a fanart for the splinterlands weekly challenge C: in which i got the second place last week!!! yay! it certainly makes me very happy!!! This was the card I decided to choose, in my opinion is very badass the character of this card and I really wanted to make a fanart, the basis for today was:
- wings
- beach day
- splinterland
lets start!
Ok, this was tricky, I haven't drawn characters lying down before, I feel like it's just as tricky as drawing characters sitting down, if you do it wrong it can just look like an awkward or weird and unnatural position so .... give it a try XD

base color for the skin color ! its a yellowish shade
Now we add some shadows
so the skin doesnt look that ... weird, its a beach day so, the color must be on those shades of yellow/orange, warm colors, did some base color in the pants
more shadow for the skin in another layer
ok XD there was so much going on in my head when i got to this point
I don't usually draw male figures, I'm more used to draw female figures, but I still decided to take a risk and go ahead with the drawing... I was between an uncomfortable crossroads where I didn't want to make him super muscular, so I did what I could with the shadows and different tones of the skin.
started shaping one of the wings i needed for this character, and while doing so i laughed bc dude looks like some kind of badass link 
added some shadow color for the wing
details in purple and gray C: to actually shape those feathers
duplicated the wings and voila!
i also worked on the background details, a beach umbrella (? a towel something to drink and so on
did a funky pattern for the towel
added a palm tree, and also sand
and lastly ! the sea! C: i also worked on the animation by hand to get this final result !

For the animation I wanted to make the sea move behind the character so I previously left everything in separate layers, the main character is in one layer (with all the shadows and bases attached before the animation) and the things that are in the background are separated. Besides the movement of the sea, I wanted to make the animation of the breeze in the movement of some leaves of the palm tree and in the little strands of hair sticking out, the hardest part was to make everything match in a perfect loop.
