Hello!
How’s the weekend going for you? I’m doing pretty well, currently waiting on the balcony for a carpenter to come and fix a safety box. I need it because I’m living with my brother, a “perfume monster,” who won’t let me grow my collection the way I want to. So, I need a place to stash some bottles.
Last night, even though I was super tired, I started and finished a portrait. It all began when I was going through Procreate, looking for something to post for the #artadventcalender event on Bluesky. I was also looking for projects to delete when I came across a file with just a hand illustration. This usually happens when I exceed the layer limits on a project, so I open another one to render a portion that I can then import as a whole to the main project. I was thinking about deleting this single hand illustration, but then I started filling out the little skeleton frame. It turned into an alternative route I hadn’t planned on. I got so deep into it that I couldn’t stop, probably because I enjoy redesigns the way some little girls like playing dress-up and doing make-up with dolls.
In the end, I created this portrait, and I even think I like her more than the original. What do you think?
Here’s a side-by-side comparison. When I put them together, I realized the little alterations. Her head is smaller, ‘rounder than longer,’ and her eyes are smaller too. I almost placed the bunny mask in the same position (almost). Maybe January will see me doing a lot of redraws. Who knows?
So yeah, this is what I did, and now I’m signing out. Have a great weekend and new week ahead, and I’ll be back on Tuesday (trying to get into some form of regularity here. Chitchatting on Alienhive 2 or 3 times a week and the Onchain art channel is my new Instagram).
