strangers in the house

in #hive-159662 years ago

The past couple of the days have been very warm here in Holland +31 degrees, resulting in insects and humans looking for a cool spot inside .

And so not being able to be as active as i used to be with photography , because of the heat , but i was able to make some nice Macro photos after all , just not as many as i usual make in one day.

The stranger behind the camera, it took me a couple of attempts but i would say it's a nice selfie at 2.5 magnification.

Then the 1st morning i spotted this male ant with wings it sat in the windowsill, i only managed to get one decent photo before it flew away

The next morning i spotted this Crane fly in the shower , Nephrotoma analis / spijkertijger , so i closed the bathroom door grabt the camera went back to the bathroom closed the door again not hust to avoid it to fly away , but also making sure the cat wouln't kill my model.

Just look at the amazing wing structure , after the phoitoshoot i opend the bathroom window and closed the door so that it could find it's way outside again.

Yesterday afternoon i noticed that the cat was way to excited about something , she loves to play with insects.

So i locked the cat in the living room grabbed a piece of paper and my camera , to make nice pictures of this Amphimallon solstitiale / June beetle / Juni Kever . you might think that it is dead but ...

I can assure you it's very much alive

trying to roll over on the piece of paper

and once it was standing on it's legs again i put it out side back in the garden again.

And this morning i spotted this fly on the window of that garden door probably another abandoined toy of the cat since it' was busy cleaning it's wings

so after this picture i just opened the garden door and let it fly away .
I know most people would just kill it , but there are already so little amount of insects left due to pesticides being used way to often, so i try to save them as much as possible.

All your photographs are beautiful. The first photograph shows a beautiful reflection of the eyelashes in the eyeball. That photograph is my favorite.

thank you , i'm glad you like my selfie

Hahah yeah man its hot at the moment
. Nice bug collection you got flying in (trying to keep them out here at night gaha)

way to hot , but atleast it cools down at night so that i 'm able to sleep a bit.
I'm just happy that the bees , bumblebees and wasps stay outside 😁
