I see a white camper van, with it lights on.
I feel like getting in on a rainy day and feel the cozy and warm interior.

Eddie arrived at the dinner in his camper van. He pulled up at the side of the house, away from the family's parking lot. He has plans of living the dinner quite early so he had to make sure no one would park behind him which may delay his leaving. Although he had not seen his family for a while, he had no intention of being part of a prolonged family reunion.
It's been 5 years since the family last came together for a family dinner. And the last time had been more of a court session and prosecution than a lovely family get together. All the grieve and anger his parents and siblings had bottled up was let loose on him that day, all because he had been the one who convinced Cody, his immediate younger brother to join the army and just 2 years into his service year, he got blown up by a suicide bomber in the middle East. His parents, Helen, Mart, Mason and Clarke his siblings had all been against the idea of him and Cody going off into the army but Eddie had been so obstinate and persuasive that at the end, Cody ran off with him. And here 's the end, Cody coming back under the flag. He had resigned soon afterward, gotten the camper van and dedicated his time to humanitarian affairs but he still could not forgive himself for Cody's death.
But a month ago, he got a mail from Mason asking him to be present at the next family dinner. At first, he was hard bent not to go but Mary, his co-humanitarian has made him change his mind.
"Come on Eddie, it's your family. They have a right to be angry but you should not stay away from them. Who knows, maybe this time, there would be silver linings to the dark clouds that has spread over you."
"I bloody hope she 's right. For Cody's sake" Eddie said as he pulled his jacket from the hanger, stepped out of the van and walked towards the large family house entrance.

Sort:

Death is inevitable
Eddie died for fatherland
Cody shouldn't feel so guilty

Cody did choose to join the army and there's no one to blame for his death. I feel for Eddie.
