Author's Note: we know the end that I describe because the ship's equivalent of a plane cockpit recorder captured it. Thus tragically ended a series of bad decisions over 40 years that made such an end unavoidable... it is as sad a tragedy as it is unknown to the public outside shipping ... but, my father worked the piers, so I pay attention.
