This is my version of the story started by @bobthebuilder2

We've been living in this house for a few years. Nothing would have really prepared me for what was about to happen. Sure, they told us that if a disaster ever hit that we'd just have to hide in our basement and put on gas masks...that everything would blow over quickly. That's not exactly how it happenend.

I was sweeping the floor in my kitchen, occasionally glancing out the kitchen window to catch glimpses of the green hillsides and to enjoy the singing of the birds nearby. With a ponytail and whispies falling at my cheeks, my three little children were playing in the living room. It was at this moment, while I was leaning against my broom with a sun-splashed warmth coating my dress and apron, that I saw a flash of light. Almost immediately there was a plume of green and purple smoke shooting up with an orange tinged halo near the origin of the flash.

"TO THE BASEMENT!!! NOW!!!"

STOP DAD!

That's not how it all happened. You weren't even there half the time. I mean you were in the basement all day, and c'mon Dad @bobthebuilder2 , you never sweep the kitchen. You practically lived in the basement since the authorities announced the possibility of an invasion

I'm sorry gentle men, pardon my Dad, he gets forgetful at times. This is the true story about the origin of psyberX.

We all were gathered at the church, scientists have made several researches and it was certain that the attack was going to happen anytime. We didn't gather at the church because we wanted to say our last prayers... Or anything like that. Besides our priest @dynamicrypto laid down his garment and took up arm. We gathered at the church because it was the only place big enough to accommodate a greater percentage of the City to plan our final stand and also it was the closest building to the boundary.

With gas masks and heavy suits, 80 percent of the men and women of our City mounted at the boundary. We were ready to die, but we were not ready to give up our lands, our years of sweat. We developed our City from the ashes, We got to the city after our quarrel with our cousins the Cyberpunks.

"wait a minute Ms @beeber let me get that straight. You guys are actually related to the Cyberpunks?"

Source

Yeah, centuries ago, we lived together with the Cyberpunks in a small planet called psyberX. We are the original X genes, while our cousins got the Psyber powers. The Cyberpunks became greedy and wanted to have more power in the planet and control everything that happens on Psyber-X. After the quarrel, we decided to evacuate Psyber-x, seeking a new home. That was when we stumbled on Crypto City.

Cyberpunks were so happy that they finally got rid of us, and sent us to a planet with no form of life. Thanks to our X genes which gave us unique powers, we were able to build a beauty out of nothing. Now the greedy Cyberpunks heard of our success and they want this planet as well. This time they weren't coming for our City only, with their highly advanced technology they finally found a way to clone our X genes, but they needed as many samples as they can get.

"Are you trying to that you all stood up against the Cyberpunks, you civilians?"

Definitely. 80% of our military personnels had gone out the previous week to battle the Cyberpunks, none of them made it back. The cyberpunks led by @psyberx eliminated them all. We had no choice, everybody who could hold a weapon assembled at the church. The children and oldies like my dad bobthebuilder remained in the basements.

"From the look of things, you all had enough time to plan your defense."

Actually we had more than enough time. We stayed in the church for five years before the battle began. Time wasn't what we needed, we needed a miracle. The cyberpunks were greater than us in so many ways. In those five years, we were scared to leave our positions even for one minute.

I can remember the first airstrike vividly, 420 explosions at a go, destroying 60% of our people in a matter of seconds. In that moment, the survivors realized that they didn't stand a chance against the cyberpunks. Our commander @buffalobison decided that we fall back to plan B.

"And this is plan B?"

Yes Sir! We had to reach out to other planets. This is why we are here on earth asking you to please JOIN THE RESISTANCE.

Edited to add the psyberx origin tag
