Hello everybody, this is my submission for snooks challenge #5 create your zombie. If you want to participate in this challenge follow the details here: Create Your Zombie Challenge
Elliana wasn't a normal zombie as all the others were focused on eating brains and getting their next meal she was obsessed with finding the latest beauty trends and designer clothing. You see Elliana was a beauty queen before the apocalypse hit and even though she forgot most of the things in her past life being drop-dead gorgeous was something that stayed with her in this necrotic body.
She spent most of her time wandering around the empty blood-filled streets of New York. Stopping in at some of the barren designer shops and picking out a new outfit each day, she couldn't stand the blood always staining her clothes. She loved being in pure white and anything that brought some light into this darkened wasteland. One day she stopped at a wedding store going through the aisles and having small flashbacks of days of the past. She never got married when she was full of life and laughter but she always dreamed of it.
Now she knows she can't find that happiness in this apocalyptic world but keeps that hope that she might be wrong. Finding another zombie to mate with would be nearly impossible most can't even comprehend the idea of a conversation. Even Elliana can only talk in grunts and groans but longs for that feeling of want and desire. She picked out the most beautiful dress in the shop put it on and left for the streets of Saratoga.
Setting off in her adventures she was starting to get hungry now and knew she had to do what she dislikes the most to find someone or something to feast on for the night. She walked for miles looking high and low for some scraps and picking up what she could. It was getting to be sundown now and she still hadn't fully eaten and felt like she had been starving.
Elliana journeyed on before stopping at a bench in the middle of times square. She looked around and saw nothing but lifeless husks moving around the once lively center of New York was falling apart with the signs rusting away and buildings degrading. The sunlight caught her dress illuminating the center of the city and catching the attention of one of the roamers.
Eddie was his name and for the first time since becoming infected, he felt his heart have a slight tingle. He caught Elliana in all her beauty sitting there in the middle of the square radiating an exquisite presence. He was the only one that noticed her and was drawn in by some kind of supernatural force. He made his way to her slowly but surely, as he finally got to her he sat down for the first time in years. His decrepit legs gave two loud pops as his kneecaps nearly exploded from not being used in so long.
Elliana looked over to Eddie and as their eyes met each other there was a spark of intrigue. They could only communicate in what could only be classed as romantic grunts and groans. For some reason, though they could understand each other in the mumbled mess of ugh's and ahhs. Eddie grabbed Elliana's hand leading her to his favourite spot in the square. The top of the once prestigious Rockefeller Center.
As they walked up the near-endless amount of steps they finally got to the rooftop and had a lookout at the entire city it was a sight to behold and brought the slightest smile to Elliana's fractured face. He led her to the edge hand in hand and they stood there in unison soaking in the sunset and enjoying the special connection they made. As the sun went down they stayed there all night feeling like pure ecstasy was coursing through rotting flesh. Eddie had something special he was saving in case of emergency...a full human brain now rotting away and filled with maggots. Elliana's eyes light up as brains were a zombie's favourite delicacy maggots and all.
He broke her off half and attempted to feed her but his hand abruptly cracked and fell off to the streets below. He still had one good hand so he took his half of the brain and attempted to do it again this time his brittle bones held up and she devoured Greymatter from his caring palm.
After the meal which felt like an aphrodisiac, they sat at the edge of the 266M building staring into each other's dead eyes but finding the small glimmer that was left. A few grunts and moans later and Elliana Grabbed Eddie's hand and let out a groan that only he could understand. Looking at the street below he knew what she was thinking. Each of them had never felt anything like this and they knew it could never be any more special of an occasion than to die in each other's arms.
Staring at the moon in the night sky they grabbed each other Elliana in her beautiful white dress and Eddie in his tattered and bloodied suit. As they stared deeply at each other one last time they walked off the edge of the massive skyscraper. As they fell 872 ft it felt like they were floating in each other's arms before one massive thud and then complete blackness. The only thing that was left on the streets was a bloody silhouette of the two hand in hand leaving a bloody heart-shaped outline.
