If I see a spotted apple, I would not take, neither will I eat it. I would assume it has a deficiency in some way, my thoughts would be that such apple would have an effect on my health. I am sure some of you would do the same.
The aspect of the purple spotted is even extreme for me, I would say it has been bewitched, maybe by a witch or so.
That's my view though.
I am not sure there is a straight meaning or a literal explanation of the purple spotted apple, but it is just an apple that is spotted. At least, a spotted apple has an explanation as to why the production came out spotted.
