A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: The Life of the Queen

What Do You See?
When I look at the picture, I see a woman holding a drink, with rings adorning her fingers. These rings aren’t just jewelry, they symbolize who she is. Her face may not even matter much; the rings tell her story. It feels like she’s the wife of a king. Let’s call her Queen Esther.

What Do You Feel?
The moment I saw this image, three thoughts came to mind:

1.She is the wife of a king
Not everyone can be the wife of a king. This position is reserved for a chosen few, those who are uniquely qualified for such a role. To explain why I believe this, we need to explore the symbolism of the rings on her fingers. Each ring carries a meaning, and together they tell her story and validate my thoughts.

Index Finger: A symbol of authority and leadership.

Middle Finger: Represents responsibility.

Ring Finger: Shows that she is married.

Two Rings on the Right Middle Finger: These symbolize her responsibility to care for both her citizens and her husband’s citizens as queen.

  1. She wants to entertain herself
It’s no secret that kings love to drink, and as a queen, she may have adopted that lifestyle. Here, she’s taking a moment to relax and enjoy a drink herself.

  1. She is beautiful
Her beauty is undeniable! Just look at her gorgeous nails they’re stunning. She’s so pretty that the organizers of this week’s contest chose not to show her face, letting her other features do all the talking.

A Story About What’s Happening

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Esther. She was noble, kind, and everything a parent could wish for in a daughter. But tragedy struck, and she lost her parents at a young age. She went to live with her uncle, Mordecai, who raised her with love and care. He was gatekeeper for the king.

Fast Forward to What Happened

One day, the former queen, Mrs. Vashti, disobeyed the king. She would often leave the palace to spend time with young men and stay out for days, which made the king furious.

This was when the king decided to replace her. And guess what? The king’s eyes landed on Esther. Why? Because she was not only extremely beautiful but also highly intelligent. During their first conversation, the king was impressed by her wisdom, as though she were someone on a mission.

Eventually, the king married Esther. That’s why you see the rings on her fingers. The ring on her right finger represents the time she was engaged, and the one on her left finger shows that she is now married to the king.

Esther’s uncle, Mordecai, worked as a gatekeeper for the king. He was the one who supported Esther’s education and helped her achieve all she had.

A Plot Against Mordecai and Esther
One day, a colleague of Mordecai who also worked for the king began to hate him. He was envious of the kindness the king showed to both Mordecai and Esther. In his jealousy, this man plotted to kill Mordecai by digging a well to bury him alive. Worse still, he planned to kill all of Mordecai’s people.

When Esther learned of this, she was heartbroken. She cried, fasted, and prayed for a solution. Even though it was against the rules to approach the king without being summoned, Esther went to see him anyway.

The king was delighted to see her but could tell something was wrong. He was restless, eager to find out what troubled his queen. Esther finally revealed the truth about the plot against her uncle and their people.

Coincidentally, that same day, the man who plotted against Mordecai angered the king. The king, already furious after hearing Esther’s story, ordered the military to bury the man in the very well he had dug for Mordecai.

With their enemy defeated, Esther and her people celebrated their survival. Esther, relieved and joyful, raised a glass of her favorite drink to mark the occasion.
