The department of service support sales had been under a lot of pressure as they have been consecutively 3 quarters not being able to even meet 50% of the goal set for their department and now face the risk of the department either being disbanded or being grafted into another department to reduce cost.
However, in one of their weekly meetings, an unfamiliar man knocked on the door of the meeting room and joined them for their meeting. He then introduced himself as Richard and he will be the new department head for this department. He shared, "I know you guys would probably thought that this will be the end of the department after not meeting goals, but CEO had approved of me to fly in from head office and lead you guys and make a difference. This is definitely not the end and we will show the rest of the company that we can do it. Are you with me?"
Applause filled the whole meeting room, the feeling of defeat no longer resonate in the department but a new feeling of desiring more ignites within the team as start working to close the gap to the goal and wanting to proof everyone wrong.
