Karen had been always pessimistic and she had that gloom on her face everywhere she go. This is because she always felt that life hasn't been great to her and she ended up always facing setbacks.
However, a friend of hers was concerned that Karen always having this feeling and mindset. She set a time and asked Karen out for a meal.
During the meal, she told Karen, "Do you realize there is actually alot of good things that is happening around you instead of only all the gloomy stuff that you are thinking about. When we focus on the gloomy ones, everything will look gloomy. Why not change your perspective and put emphasis on the good things? Try it, you will feel different and happier."
