Johnson, a junior technician whom had join the engineering firm is currently attending an on the job training conducted by his senior. As a greenhorn, Johnson was not familiar with the tools that are being used in carrying out preventive maintenance.
His senior gave an introduction to the various tools that they use day to day to carry out maintenance work on their machines. His senior then picked up a wrench with a bended head and told Johnson that this is a ratchet wrench with a flexible head that he will need to pick up and be familiar with as soon as possible. This is because, this tool is needed to reach difficult to reach positions on the tool and many of the maintenance work will require the use of this tool to undo nuts in hard to reach positions.
Johnson gave it a little try and started out removing a number of nuts to get himself familiar. It was a fruitful session for Johnson whom was having a good hands on and his supervisor assigned him to try out a maintenance next week on his own to see how much he had learnt through the session today.
