Today marks the 3 year long recycling campaign that was launched by the mayor for his district. Throughout this 3 years, they have significantly reduced the number of plastic bags issued out from supermarkets for people buying their groceries and strongly encourage the use of recycle bags when residents go do their groceries.
It is a very a behavioural shift that is displayed by the residents and showing their effort towards preserving the environment and prevent further over use of plastics. Today's mini carnival was to celebrate the good effort of the residents and there were many fringe activities lined up for everyone.
And to mark the occasion, a green bag is being given out to each resident that attended the mini carnival. This recycle bag is specially designed by the mayor himself and definitely a limited edition. Everyone came with joy and continue spreading the message on reduction in plastic consumption.
