Hello My Hive Fam!! I hope you are doing well and enjoying life. I'm also doing great and excited to reconnect on Hive after a long time. I have been planning to publish this blog for days but real life responsibilities kept me busy.
In this blog I want to share my recent experience on a centralized platform. Without much ado let's discuss it 👇:

In August I came to know about Medium Partner Program expansion to 77 countries including Pakistan. I wanted to join Medium from long time because I know a friend from abroad who was was earning handsome amount on monthly bases for writing on Medium. Everyone of us wants to earn money, Right!! I jumped with the joy to hear about a new opportunity and joined Medium Partner Program on 18 August. In 12 days I couldn't reach 10$ payout threshold but I was hopeful for the next month.

I spent whole September grinding hard on Medium and grown in terms of audience building and earning was obvious. I was enjoying the company of my Pakistani friends whom I am met here on Medium. In September I earned around $130. Medium has 100 comments limit daily and I reached in the limit many times.

On 5 Oct, when I opened my phone to check the stats I found Medium Partner Program has been revoked from my account on Medium. I was in shocked but optimistic because I read from many writers they got caught in Spam Filters mistakenly. Immediately, I submitted an appeal for reinstatement of Medium Partner Program. One week passed but neither they reinstated Medium Partner Program nor I come to know the reason of revocation.

After ten days they responded my appeal that I am being revoked because of repeated engagement. Actually I was following active writers who write regularly. I was used to read from them regularly. I expressed my point of view before Medium legal staff but I didn't hear back from them yet. That's really heartbreaking for me because I spend my precious time on the platform to write stories as well create genuine connections with others.
I met many great writers and found some amazing virtual friends. Wether I get my account back or not I experience that centralized platforms doesn't give you full authority over your account or data. The freedom I cherished during my stay on Hive is constant. There is no limit on engaging and publishing on Hive.
