Christine's face turned pale as she watched her older sister serve her favorite food. However, something seemed off - the dish appeared incomplete. Christine knew better than to complain, as her sister wouldn't tolerate any criticism.
Despite her reservations, Christine couldn't help but mutter, "But Mum used to add fried eggs to it."
Her sister's response was immediate and harsh: "Will you shut up and eat what's in front of you?!" Christine's frown deepened.
"This isn't even my plate," she complained, trying to push the food away. Her sister yelled again, "Who gave you a plate in this house? Did you buy it with your own money? Have you ever done the dishes?"
The barrage of questions left Christine with no choice but to eat the unappetizing meal. As she struggled to swallow the potato chips, she realized she needed water to avoid choking.
Under her breath, Christine grumbled, "Next time Mum travels, I'll make sure I don't get left behind."
At least I won't have to go extra miles, like trying to cook for someone who will not appreciate it.
Christine's sister replied as those words got to her ears in the sitting room where she sat.
