Hello Hive. š
I came across the @drabble.club by @felt.buzz, another kind of #zapfic I think, and decide to give it a try. If you would like to write microfiction in 100 words, give this challenge a try.
I saw the title of this post and assumed that was the prompt so I went ahead to write. Later I saw the random word was actually "species". I'll remember to keep to the correct word next time, please.
My #zapfic100 is inspired by the by the random word, "Shelley". So here goes:
Clive has nightmares of a particular movie. Only his friend, Noah, knows about it.
He gets to school and sees a new girl in class, reading. She's quiet, shy and nerdy, because of her quirky eyeglasses.
He sits next to her. She looks at him for a moment with a slight frown. She has hazel eyes. Mysterious.
"I'm Clive. Join me for lunch at break time?" He asks, grinning warmly.
"Nope," she replies and continues reading.
Noah rushes in and bumps him on the shoulder. "Hey, cool it. That's my cousin, Shelley."
Clive pales. FRANKENSTEIN.
Noah guffaws like a villain.
Thanks for reading!
