Hello Hive. 😃 I'm back again with another @drabble.club microfiction, that is #zapfic100, inspired by the prompt "my tribe" taken from @daily.prompt's post.
If you will like to write microfiction in 100 words, feel free to give this challenge a try.
Gaia prowled in the heart of the forest, her heart pounding, fear making her outer fur glisten with sweat under the harsh sunlight.
She hitched her breath at the sound of dry twigs breaking and quickly hid inside a dense shrub.
Two pair of hairy feet appeared in front of her. "It's okay," one of them whispered. "You don't need to hide. We scented you from afar and came to help."
When she didn't respond, the owners of the feet, a tall man and a slender woman, sat down on a boulder. And waited.
After a while, Gaia limped out, whimpering. "There you are," the woman said, smiled and treated the wound on her hind leg.
Gaia shifted to her human form, knowing she had found her tribe.
