I am very happy to find you today for this new article, I am going to speak about a fundamental law that intervenes in any process of change that we wish to put in place to improve our health. And that constitutes a major key in the change and in the awareness of our way of functioning
The law of Hormesis is a principle of living, it is very little known or misunderstood, but it will interest us at all levels of our life whether it is at the level of nutrition, our management of emotions but also for our physical performance our intellectual capacities, and finally our immune system and our ability to adapt to our environment.
I would like first of all that we determine together what is a stress, when we speak about stress we think especially of the world of work for example, with its person in charge, with the always too short deadlines, for a student the period of the examinations, for a housewife all the tasks which it must carry out at the same time, in short for many of us the stress it is our daily newspaper.
You should know that a cold shower is a stress, illness is a stress, exposure to toxic substances is a stress, anger is a stress, joy is also a stress. If we were to summarize all of these situations we could say that stress is anything that takes us out of our comfort zone, there are good stresses and bad stresses, but how can we tell the difference? What is the purpose of stress? And what are its shortcomings and this is where our famous law of Hormesis comes in:
If we wanted to summarize this law of life in one sentence it would be: Everything that doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
In other words:
Any living being that is subjected to a stress within the limit of its adaptive capacity becomes stronger and increases its capacities.
The Hormesis law is simply a response of our biological defenses, a stimulus and this stimulus will be what, it can be the short exposure to a stressful situation but natural, cold temperatures or hot temperatures, a stressful event, an event that will cause intense stress it can also be a short and intense physical effort so we talk about the sessions of hits, or the practice of intermittent fasting.
