Freewrite: The ghost

in #hive-161155last year

The hall was full with writers, wanna-be writers, their agents, editors and bloggers. Everyone knew that Marcia Specter was scheduled to be present at 11:50 a.m. She is the enigmatic writer, who was suspected to be a ghost writer for many famous people. Today she would receive and award as author of a best-selling fictional novel.

At the schedule time her name was announced and Marcia walked on stage. A silence immediately fell on the large hall. Marcia was a gorgeous. She had velvety chocolate brown skin and worn long black braids. She had on a simple white dress which seemed to contrast or highlight her dark skin and long black braids perfectly. The braids flowed down to her waist at the front of her dress but as she walked across the stage - it was clear that those long interlocked tresses extended to the end of her white dress.

The audience was not only stunned by her beauty but by her overall ensemble and demeanour. She threw her long braids over her shoulder and thanked the people for whom she wrote, for giving her the opportunity to present their stories. She added,
“As writers we always reveal a bit of our souls in our writing - but I get to reveal someone else’s”.

A voice from the audience shouted,
“So what are you hiding Marcia? Who do you write for?”
Another person chimed in, “Is Marcia Specter even your real name?”

Marcia smiled and said, “A ghost writer is a ghost writer for a reason.”

She then thanked everyone and left the stage. Immediately thereafter there was a break for lunch. Marcia was nowhere to be seen. The enigmatic lady wanted to remain ghostly after all.

This is my response to the Freewriters prompt: Long braids

Wanting to remain anonymous is something a few crave beyond the fame. She’s one heck of a lady I can say. I love the whole spin about her character. Especially since she’s a writer too

Thank you @deraaa. Yes she is special. She has her own style - does not need the spotlight nor revealing her secrets.
