The end of the world?
Do people really think the whole world could come to an end? That one day we would all just die and never exists again, never knowing what's going to happen or becomes of us.
Can the world really come to an end?
This whole disastrous life we've lived really end?The unfairness? The card-like games in it? Discrimination?
Who still believed in the concept of god? If there really was one I bet he'd save us from this mess of a world. Zombies invading the world would have been prevented. He wouldn't let the huge amount of people die and grief because of nothing they know of,exactly.
Running and running day by day for our lives to keep alive, not knowing how long we have left before we all die.Same time fearing death, having no idea about the existence of the mutated creatures.Families and friends being turned with no way to get them back, still we keep on fighting, holding on to those we find dear.Holding on to the only word keeping us alive, hope.Hoping we'd all come out alive, hoping we'd finish the race, hoping one day everything will come to an end.

The wind blows across my face in a more rough manner dying down, few strays of hair brushes against my cheek.screams and gunshots boomed through my ears, tears readying to flow out my eyes.
Seeing how people got attacked terrified me.Taking as much courage I can muster,I tighten the grip I had on my pistol, aimed at a zombie head and shot at it furiously. I sprinted towards a bleeding kid on the ground crying profusely, calling out for her mum.I squat down to her level to tell her some comforting words and helped her to a safe distance.
Running back to the battle like grounds to help the defenseless,"Riley get down",a loud voice heard, stopping me in my tracks.Immediately,I ducked,a zombie with its hand chopped off flew over and landed a few feet across me.
Pulling the trigger of my gun and shooting multiple bullets at the zombie,I looked sideways and met the gaze of my brother. He smirked my way and gave me an encouraging nod.
Continuously, for the last ten minutes,I shot zombies until a loud scream reached to my hearing.I froze dead in my track, having noticed the resemblance of the voice to that of my mum.Swiftly,I averted my gaze to the direction of the voice.
Slightly loosening the grip on the pistol in my hand."Mom",my voice echoes through the wind.Running to her direction,a zombie widens its jaw, readying to pierce it's bloody teeth through her skin.I held my gun firmly and aim at the creature.
Wide bullets could be heard within the area, the zombie dropped down shaking. My mom, free from the grip of the zombie, attempts running to a safe distance to look for a weapon.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair out of relief. She was safe at least.I didn't just know what was gonna happen next.
I didn't.
I'd never think there would be another zombie,a swifter one,few feet from the dead zombie, now closing distance to my mum.
Everything happened so fast, teeth on my mum's head, hands on her arms.
I couldn't see clearly anymore,my vision was getting blurred by my own tears. Tightening my grip on my gun,I let out a huff, shooting the zombie gripping her, hoping and praying silently that what just happened didn't happen.
"I'm dreaming alright"I muttered to myself.
The stray zombie dropped down with her lifeless body.I slump down near her trying dumbly to wake her up,to get a response,to get her body to move or something, anything at all.
Her skin had turned pale and cold, her pulse dead.Tasting my own tears,I swallow a sob.A body lands on its knees beside me.
I couldn't think clearly.
"Mu-m...Muu-m",the voice said, attempting to get a straight sentence but failing miserable. It was my brother's.I got my focus back and continued my attempt to get her back, shaking her body for a response.
"Rian,mu-m's pla-yi-ng around,ri-ght?,Sh-e's go-nna get up anyt-ime soon right?"
"We should probably get going",I heard Tara say.The desolate landscape around me blurred into obscurity. I took a deep breath ,trying to clear my head. "Yeah sure", I murmured, turning towards the direction of the cave we resided in. The zombies had cleared the city, it was a wasteland now. There were no houses or sign of human existence. We'd tried as much as possible to stay hidden from the zombies, they were at this point unstoppable. The movies and series on zombies didn't say enough about them and the facts they mentioned weren't completely true. Zombies weren't slow and they weren't completely stupid either. They had a sense of direction and knew when to attack and when not to and they are extremely difficult to fight off without a gun.
Waking towards where we lived, something caught my eye. "Tara that's a tree", I pointed to the 7 foot piece of life few meters from us. She turned her head to stare at what I was looking at. "Yeah,it is. Haven't seen one around here for so long. How come we've never noticed it?"
"Probably because we don't take this route often"
She walked to the tree cautiously and stopped abrupt to look at me,"Yeah, probably that. Come tell me what kind of tree this is? I have no idea"
"You do know you're the smart one amongst us", I was closer to the tree now and it had some fruits on it. They looked like pears but I wasn't sure. It was strange how we had never noticed such a tall tree before. Ever since the zombie invasion, the land's been bare. We survived on weed and bush meat and sometimes just water and some roots. It was hard to see animals in the open because. Our gun power was reducing drastically because we had been shut off by the other cities. The zombie invasion affected the whole world and few had been able to survive it. The cities that are still thriving are trying their best to isolate theirselves from the situation as much as possible.
"It's strange, don't you think? I was thinking yesterday and now,I really think we need to get out of here",my blonde haired friend said as she struggled with the bag strap on her shoulders."I mean there's really nothing here and at this point,we might just starve to death", she went on.
My shoe always made a sound whenever I try to move after staying in a spot for too long. It made that sound as I jogged away from the tree into the path to the cave that was about 15 minutes away from us. Tara was already by my side and we were sprinting to the cave. I let out a sigh before replying her,"I am well aware of the fact we can't keep living as we are right now and we have no plan for the future, but we are less prepared to move away than to starve to death."
I saw this somewhere in my wattpad draft. I wrote this when I was 14 and now I'm 18. I genuinely hope you liked it. And yes,I do plan on taking it up again. Younger me was onto something. Thanks for reading.
