The Last leaf. 5 minutes freewrite

in #hive-1611552 months ago

There was a strange sense of familiarity in the air as I strolled through the forest. The hues all about me had become muted, as though they were holding their breath in anticipation of an invisible event. One leaf, however, was clinging frantically to a branch at the path's edge, refusing to join its fallen comrades that were strewn all over the ground. The woodland as a whole seemed to be letting go and giving in to the seasons' inevitable course. However, this one leaf persisted, obstinate, colourful, and alive.

Like this leaf, we all struggle to be colorful and alive and however I hate being obstinate, I still have so many to let go of.

Exactly!
