Logan was a famous actor, but not too famous. He was just starting off, and he was a good actor, someone with a lot of potential. He was also the kind of man who owned a precious knife collection. He had all kinds of knives. Collecting them gave him satisfaction and pleasure. One of those knives was a pen knife, and was made from gold. It was an expensive knife.
One night, he was having a party in his house, and he happened to show one of his new friend called Hunter his expensive knife collection.
Hunter: “You seem to have a lot of knives, I'm impressed!"
Logan:"Yes, It took me a lot of time to collect them!"
Hunter, pointing to the gold pen knife: “Will you trade this gold one with one of my stuff?”
Logan: "No!”
Hunter: “What a shame! I really liked that pen knife of yours, and I was willing to trade it with my gold medallion!"
Logan thought Hunter was lying to him.
Logan had trust issues, and something about Hunter's tone of voice prevented him from trusting him. That was why he said no.
The next month, Logan coughed up while he was sipping through his coffee because he read the headlines in the newspaper:
“An antic gold medallion was sold in an auction for 1 million dollars!”
He recognized the medallion because Hunter showed him a picture. Logan regretted not trusting his new friend Hunter. His knife was expensive and also antic, but it sure didn't worth 1 million dollars.
So, he called Hunter and asked him why on earth he wanted to trade his medallion with his knife, and his answer shocked him!
Hunter: “Firstly, I didn't know it was worth 1 million dollars and second of all because sentimental value matters to me! It is not about money! I just wanted to have what belonged to a famous actor like you!"
