The organic fertilizer obtained after the decomposition of animal dung is best as manure for your garden. The best part is It is totally organic. Make sure you use it completely decomposed.
It means that one should not use the fresh waste from animals as manure, as it contains high levels of ammonia and potential pathogens. Therefore, the older the manure is, the more beneficial it is for your plants.
The manure contains all the necessary nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, manganese, fiber, protein, etc. So whatever your plants need, they are present in animal manure.
The best way to make compost using waste is by collecting animal including horse dung, rotten fruit, vegetables, peels, or kitchen waste in a moist place. However, depending on the season and the amount of waste, it may take a year or more for the compost to be ready.
Apart from this, mix fresh animal dung and urine in a barrel or any metal, or plastic vessel with water and keep it for 24 hours. After this, add decomposed fruits such as bananas and vegetables, and then if you add a small amount of jaggery to it this mixture will decompose faster.
You should keep stirring this mixture regularly to make it better and faster in about six months. The manure will be ready as compost.
Apart from this, to make animal dung manure, dig an 8–10-inch deep pit, fill it up with dung, and then cover it with soil. It will take six months to prepare the compost by this method.
Now the manure is ready for plants as compost. But be careful, the fresh dung should not be used as manure, otherwise your plants will suffer due to the bacteria and other harmful elements such as high levels of ammonia and other potential pathogens.
