Life does not have to be so complicated, difficult or sad all the time because there are a lot of beautiful things that bring happiness. For me, it is in the little things as well as the seemingly big things.
I love to be lost in the moment with my favourite person or people. To really live every second, feeling every sensation, taking in every sight, sound, scent, and taste. To have no regrets when we’re out of each other’s sight. I love to look back on these moments with glee and satisfaction.

I love music. I’m not particular about the genre or the musician. No. Sure, I have musicians and bands that I listen to frequently, but that is only because some or even a good number of their songs appeal to my auditory appetite. I love music that is good to my ears. The synchrony of melody, rhythm, lyrics and language, that makes the song, thrills me. It used to be foreign songs that did that for me, but currently, Nigerian artists really have my interest and my heart.
I love art. Art makes me happy. I love to be in an art gallery, surrounded by all those pieces of people’s view of the world around them or their imaginations. I love the blend of colours, paint on canvas, pen or pencil on paper, all types of sculpture- wood, metal, marble or stone. I love the abstract paintings or those I can relate to. Art gives me a calming feeling. I hope to gather art pieces in future just for the love of it.
I recently began to love it when people smile genuinely. The previously mean face at rest breaks into a luminous lovely smile, which lights up their whole face. The sound of genuine laughter makes me happy. I love to know that people are enjoying the moments of their lives.
I love food. Despite dealing with eating disorders, I love to know that there is food. I love when my sisters tell me about the food they want to cook and how it will turn out. The mere excitement that comes with that announcement is what I love. I love ice cream. Every flavour. I believe no one should ever be too full for ice cream. The sight of well garnished food makes the list, as well.
I like to dress up. I love to read. I love to gift and be gifted. I love window-shopping. The aisle for interior decor pieces always has my attention. I love to travel. I love weddings, knowing that love and commitment have brought two people together to make a lifelong decision. I love LOVE. The feeling of being loved and loving someone else. Experiencing new places and cultures, especially if there's beautiful scenery. I hope to keep exploring new places forever.
These are some of the things which make life worth living for me. They are the silver lining to my clouds.
