Before we boarded the plane, the weather was bright and fair. There were not many passengers which led to some vacant seats. Everyone was looking good, at least from our facial expressions.

It was not quite 20 minutes after the plane took off that it landed. We were all apprehensive because we knew something must have gone wrong. For the plane to land few minutes after take off, for a journey of about one hour means that all was not well.

As we were looking at each other's face, the pilot himself disembarked from the cockpit and came over to address us.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he started. "This is Golan airport, not faraway from our airport of departure."

"So, what are we doing here?" We wondered. The question could be read in our individual eyes.

"The weather is bad, so bad that we can't continue in it. Good a thing as soon as I sent a distress signal to this airport, they gave me the greenlight to land," he explained.

We were all dumbfounded as he continued.

'Just be patient. In a short while, the sky will be friendly again, and we shall continue our journey," he assured.

And so, we waited for about 2 hours before we finally left the Golan airport and got to our destination safely, though later than we would have, had we not experienced that bad weather.

Had there been bad weather or was there an other reason they did not (dare) to mention?
At least everyone arrived safely at the destination airport.

Thanks for sharing your story.

The pilot actually told the passengers there was a bad weather.

It's actually better to be safe than to embark on a risky journey

Unforseen circumstances ensued and it might have seemed as though it was to your detriment but it's a great thing the weather got worse just before take-off.

Imagine if such an incident had occurred mid-way through the journey? 💀

You're right. Thanks for your time.

Oh, too bad the journey was halted but can surely be slated for another day.

It's one of those things in life. Sometimes we're forced to change our plans by circumstances. Thanks for your time.
