A man named Sonny lives in the town of Dalles. Sonny worked as the community organizer, which means he was in charge of planning events, festivals, and competitions for the town. Sonny had a wonderful idea one day to organize an event that he thought the residents of the town would appreciate. The event was dubbed "The Treasure Hunting Race" by him.
The sport, though it sounded spectacular, was simply a blend of treasure hunting and racing. The event entails discovering a "treasure" that the organizer has hidden beforehand, and once found and recovered, the person who found the treasure must run to the finish line while carrying the "treasure." Indeed, it may not appear complicated on its own, but the catch is that another contender could still steal the "treasure" from the person who discovered it.
So, with the competition in mind, Sonny went to the local mayor to get permission to hold it. The mayor was likewise intrigued by the concept and agreed to support the tournament. Sonny was overjoyed that his concept had been accepted and got right to work. Soon, the entire town learned that a competition would be conducted in which anyone of sound mind and body might compete.
And before long, crowds of eager participants flocked to the town hall to sign up for the events. Then, on a specific Saturday, the much-anticipated "Treasure Hunt Race" gets underway.
Sonny explained the competition rules to the contestants and the spectators at the venue. He described the treasure's general location as well as its appearance. Sonny marked the start of the event after the explanation was finished.
Soon, the town was inundated with delighted participants who frantically searched the streets for the treasure while the audience watched the entire event unfold on the plaza's massive television screen.
Soon after, one of the participants discovered the prize and attempted to sprint to the finish line. Unfortunately, he was discovered by the other competitors, who chased after him like madmen, much to the pleasure of the spectators. Fearing for his life, the man ran as he'd never run before, crossing the finish line without even realizing it.
The man was given a trophy and prize money after being named the winner. And with that, the event was declared a success.
