Chung Ju-yung is an adventurer who developed himself by research despite his upbringing in a poor family. He achieved his goals with determination and strong desire.
He was Born in 1915, he grew up in villages of North Korea , where he went to work at a young age in the field of building workshops because of the financial situation, he gained many experiences at work despite hardships and burden of carrying mud and heavy stones. His work became unavailing after the outbreak of World War II.
Then he had a work experience in private workshops for the manufacture of military trucks during the war period, where he learnt more experience in automobile manufacturing field that enabled him to establish his own workshop in 1946.
After short period, he was able to establish a special contracting company called Hyundai, which achieved many successes briefly and contributed to the restructuring of the infrastructure of South Korea.
Chung benefited from his experience of cars field to establish a factory in the name of Hyundai for cars in 1967, where he was able to launch the first Korean car produced by his own factory, which he named Pony.
