We meet at dawn, just beneath the night and the stars it brings; the moon elongates it's body, gets scared away by the sun in a haste; the shadows and silhouettes hide their darkness as sunrise comes to take it's place.
I see cottons of clouds gather in sweet assemble of gases, adorning the sky in patterns of white and blue. The earth heats up in sun's fury. My sojourn peaks at noon, about half the distance of my stop.
The driver loses sway at times; he sees life as a child who plays on mountains without the fear of a fall. His eyes dilated, getting towards nystagmus. His consciousness is altered; his life is on a higher level.
All hell starts to break lose. We travail in the bus; contemplating imminent catastrophe. He laughs at us, taking us as mere mortals on the earth- He is probably now a god visiting the earth like the ancient times of Egypt and Greece. Demons have found a new possession; a mad man leading the way.
A trailer beckons near and nearer. The driver gives us a malicious grin. He goes on an overtaking mission, to outrun this chariot before him; he takes no prisoners on the road. Two quickfire gallops, a momentary loss of control and a near sideways collision. We shout in local dialets; the driver starts to come back to earth.
A passenger sniffs; tells us of the goings-on at the park; of how the driver took local gins and tobacco at first light. It took time for the chemicals to work on him, but they certainly came through at the end.
