Photography and Haiku

in #hive-1614652 years ago

Haiku is one of my favorite forms of poetry. Despite the short 5-7-5 structure, it can bottle up images, emotions and tension needed for a poem. It originated from Japan, and its most common topic or subject is nature, but of course it is not limited to it.

I came to love Haiku when I was in college. It was not formally taught in our creative writing course, but my professor introduced it to me and asked me to try writing some. From then on, I became a fan of Haiku.

It's been so long since my last haiku, but my recent trips left me wanting to write some again. Without further ado, here are three haikus inspired by three photos:

A dying leaf wishing
To finally kiss the ground
Got stuck on a net

Hundreds of raindrops
Sliding on the car window---
A tear on my cheek

One burnt by the sun
Waits for the restful blanket
Of the cool nightsky

That's it for now. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it a habit and write few haikus every week. Personally, it is therapeutic and fulfilling.

Do you love Haiku too?
Feel free to share some of your haikus here!

Thanks, Jude! No need to rhyme. Most great haikus I've read don't rhyme. If you try writing again, sana you'll show me. Hihi.

Saaame. It's my fave din among the three. Personally, I love sad poems better.

Please do write more. You have quite a talent for it. I enjoyed nightsky solid set as one word. Great photos too.

Thank you very much! Will definitely write more!

Hi @cloflo, Unique poetry haiku. Hopefully you can write as often as you want. Leaves and raindrops are always beautiful...

The haikus are beautiful and their writing is addictive. They are short, but not easy to do and that in so few verses they convey feelings.
Congratulations, you conveyed feelings and emotions with your Haikus.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

Thank you for giving my haikus your time. Indeed, that's the goal I wanna achieve with my haiku or even with other forms of poetry-- to express and invoke emotions. I'm glad you think I've done that. Have a great week!

Dear @cloflo,
Our previous proposal expired end of December and the Hivebuzz project is not funded anymore. May we ask you to review and support our new proposal (https://peakd.com/me/proposals/248)?
Thank you for your help!

I love reading Haikus!
The second one's my fave ❤️ Share some more haiku in the future, cloflo!
