The Love of Cats ~ Haiku of Japan

in #hive-1614653 years ago

寝て起て大欠して猫の恋
nete okite oakubi shite neko no koi

sleeping then waking
then a big yawn
the cat goes out in search of love

"Four Cats In Different Poses" by Utagawa Kuniyoshi

Cats would seem to be beloved everywhere, even in pre-modern Japan. And why not, eh? Indeed, who doesn't love a cute cat?

The kigo (season word) here is neko no koi, cat's love. It is a season word for early spring. I don't watch cats enough to know how true it is, but evidently this has long been considered the time of the year when cats are getting it on with each other.

I've posted some poetry here recently! !ALIVE

@dbooster! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @dibblers.dabs. (1/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

I just recently got to learn about haiku through a poem someone posted in the community and now I'm seeing another one. I'm happy I'm learning. The poem is also quite nice.
Also, if by any chance, you need volunteers for any activity in the community, you can count me in. Thanks

    Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you for the offer. Yes, help would be useful, as I don't have as much time to devote to Blockchain Poets as I'd like. For the moment, the best way to help is just comment as much as possible. Also, if you see people who don't use photos in their posts, you might suggest they do so, or suggest that they use the #creativecoin tag, and so on... things like that.

Get in touch with me on discord. I may have more ideas for help soon.

Duly noted! My account got hacked through a phishing link 2 days ago and I only just regained control of my account. That's why I'm just replying.
I shall do well to make those comments on people's posts in the community and get in touch with you on discord

When I read haiku, too difficult for me to understand. But I like read it. I can make free imagination.

That is the way! Older haiku can be difficult, so I always try to explain. But many haiku are more like mental pictures, so you are free to imagine what you will.

What I like the most or what I enjoy the most about your Haikus are the interesting teachings and explanations you put in your posts about Japan, I enjoy them very much, a hug friend =)
