You've lived through my pain
You've been the bearer of my lies
If i could change the world
I'd curse out all of the evil
And you'd be the only person i'd let breathe
You made me into a man
That gives it all to anyone that calls
I sometimes expect the same in return
But that's not what you taught me
I remember the times when the world could pass me by
And i wouldn't wish for a single change
That's when i was your son
Before i was a man
Before i learnt the dance of shame
Before i learnt the dance of shame
This last line seems to have a meaning I can't comprehend. If you don't mind, can u please elaborate on what u meant by dance of shame.
Indeed mothers play an amazing role in every child lives.
Nice write up.
before innocence was lost was what i was going for, thanks for the comment!
So lost after the first read. So connected after the second read. Your words were totally indirect yet direct at some points. Correct me if I am wrong, but this poem is dedicated to mothers, right? A very nice attempt.
Writing about close ones is such a deep and sensitive topic...The expression ''dance of shame'' is a strong one. I like it. I also find your drawing nice chosen in this context. It connects me with the idea of roots and family.
Very nice poem is special and also I love the drawing reflects well what you feel, thanks for sharing.
