Sauternes, White Bordeaux Wine

Hey fellow Wine Nerds! Hope all is well. I have been taking it easy, and drinking less lately. Just been so busy with work, and the kids, I just haven't been in the mood. Also just harvested some of my personal indoor cannabis, which has been extra nice in these stressful times!

I did find some time to sneak this half bottle of Sauternes the other day. This is a dessert wine, and sweet. I have always wanted to try this White Wine from Bordeaux, and now that I have, I doubt I will ever again. A little to sweet for my taste. Although I am sure if I had some cheese to go with it, I may be telling a different story. This is also a wine that can age for a long time, and perhaps I had it to young? Anybody here that enjoys this wine, please let me know in the comments. CHEERS!

Drank around a good time, not too young. Could age for a lot longer if you wanted. Nice to try thou. classic example of botrytis effect dessert wine style

So interesting. When I get Botrytis on my cannabis, it is ruined! Ill have to watch a youtube video on how they do this. Do you ever make dessert wines?

I have made dessert wine, in Canada we usually do icewine where we freeze the grapes, leaving the water behind and pressing out the sugar. Botryis effected wines have the noble rot dehyrate the water out the grapes, concentrating the sugar. I find sometimes I can taste the mould in them...

In most wine making, botrytis is like cannibis. No good.
