Some Natgeo Wild Type Discovery I Happened Upon

in #hive-163521yesterday

I made this post a month or so ago about the ants in my house, but now I've got quite a mind-blowing story about them. Something that should probably be on National Geographic or something.

So, the thing is there are actually two types of ants in my house. A small not so dark ant and a big darker ant. You can see them here:

The small ants are a different specie, they're not the children of the bigger ones. In this picture the small ant is carrying the big one. The big one just looks like a thick black stuff but that's because it was crushed.

The small ants never bite no matter what, even if you lay on them by mistake, but the bigger ants they bite like hell. Even without provocation.

Another thing is when the bigger ants die the smaller ones take their dead bodies, clearly for food.

I used to take it like nothing until one day I was laying on the floor, I saw the big ant walking quickly to my thigh and it was accompanied by the smaller ant. I knew it was going to bite me, so I quickly killed it, but I spared the smaller ant because they don't bite.

Guys, immediately I killed it the smaller ant accompanying it picked up it's dead body and returned to the direction the came from. I was like hol' up! Wait a minute! What just happened here?

It was as if the smaller ant accompanied the bigger one for just this reason!

Everytime that these ants bite me I always make sure to kill them, so what was at play here?

• Did the small ant have an agreement with the bigger ant that the bigger ant would be it's food and so the bigger ant should walk to that me so that I can kill it so it becomes the food?

• Or did the small ant blackmail the bigger one into doing this?

• Or do they have a Legal System and the bigger ant was sentenced to death and the little one was the official who accompanied it to it's death and the way it was to die was to bite a human being which would certainly lead to death?

• Or did the small one trick it into doing that just so it would have food?

• Or is this just a coincidence?

Guys, it could be anything. If you watch National Geographic you'd find that a lot of behaviours seen in insects and animals get explained by these scientists to be something way more complicated, intentional, and structured sometimes.

Who knows if there is no crazy history/relationship between these two species of ants in my house?

What do you think?

I'll keep watching them and see what else I can find. I might be unto something here 😅.
