PAPER HISTORY🧠📃 / HISTORIA DEL PAPEL👨‍🏫👨‍🎓

in #hive-1635212 years ago
I think we are heading towards a future where technology will replace paper and any type of document will be stored in a database. Paper helped our society to evolve towards a more civilized and organized world! so much so that it is believed to be the invention that helped us the most for hundreds of years! I agree with this theory because in my home, for example, the most important titles such as my master's degree or document from my apartment are written on paper! therefore even the role continues to contribute in society! Join me in this post where I visit the paper museum and learn much more about this topic!👨‍🏫🧠

We all know what paper is, but few know the history of it! and for me it is always important to know the past of an object because it helps us to better understand its function, paper is and will be crucial for the evolution of our society because the knowledge of a generation is written in it and later other generations learn from the knowledge past to rewrite history and so on information travels for hundreds of years! I don't like to bring religious themes to hive but I will use the example of the bible! the first biblical writings were kept in the black sea and are 2 thousand years old! but not everything in the bible is an act of faith! there are some books called "historical" which simply recount the history of israel for many generations without mentioning acts of faith! these books were always used to study times of time! For example, much of Roman culture was known thanks to the historical books of the Bible! the question is?? without paper where was that knowledge? SIMPLE!!! A HOLE in time!!! paper prevented our society from being left with gaps in knowledge!😮😮

I have to clarify that before paper there were obviously writing materials, but their manufacture was too expensive! our less evolved ancestors wrote on stones, the problem is that this practice ended up not being efficient and many times the environmental conditions erased the "designs" but a well-preserved paper can last for many years! As always, the Egyptians left their mark on the invention of paper! they created the first "paper" that was actually the famous "papyrus" this happened about 3 millennia before Christ! then from papyrus parchment is created! the parchment was created based on animal skin, finally the paper that was a Chinese invention is created! paper obviously had no competition because papyrus was heavy, parchment expensive!😃😃

To invent paper, let's say that the Chinese had to study a little the process of how papyrus was created, so much so that the name paper comes from the Latin "papyrus" and of course it was the material used by the Egyptians! Let's say that the Egyptians inspired the Chinese to invent the precious paper! but other countries were innovative and invented their own paper! such is the case of for example Japan! The Japanese invented a paper called: "Japanese washi" whose manufacture is so extraordinary and advanced for the time that it was declared a cultural heritage by UNESCO!🚩📕

Historians have concluded that paper was invented in 105 after Christ, a character named Cain Lun was the mastermind behind the creation of paper, he understood that the correct materials were not being used for "writing" what happened next it is that he focused on studying the bark of the trees in order to extract the raw material and create a better quality material for his writings! Cain presents his project to the emperor who asked for support to create his process in a "legal and formal" way after his project was approved years later the Chinese gradually perfected it and at the same time it spread throughout Asia reaching even to Japan!😃😃

The first paper that modern science discovered dates back to the second century before Christ in China, this paper was studied reaching the conclusion that it was created with "hemp" and "flax", Emperor Hedi was the one who industrialized the paper manufacturing process on a "large scale" this approximately in the first century and was already commercialized by Asia! at that time it was a very good paper for writing! It was only in the 8th century that paper arrived in the Arab countries and only because they captured a group of Chinese who were carrying out an expedition! then the Arabs were in charge of taking the paper technique throughout the rest of the world!😃🌍

Years later the Spaniards were the first in the West to learn about paper in Europe, the oldest known paper is the "silo missal" which dates back to the year 1000, the first country to make paper was obviously Spain in the city of Valencia. , became very famous for creating a paper of "cotton" this could be achieved because in Cordoba there was an Arab influence! even in Spain there are some mills from the 11th century where paper was created using tide mills!🤔🤔

Already in the 10th century, parchment had disappeared from the market because the paper created in Europe with hemp and flax was a much lighter and cheaper product to create! but it was in the fifteenth century when the paper takes a big step in the history of mankind and begins to be created on a large scale thanks to Mr. Gutenberg who invents a "printing press" and from this point the "press" appears, " paflejos", the most famous personal documents that exist "the letters" also appear on the market😎😎

When the paper began to be created, the bark was used, later to make the process more profitable, waste from other materials was used, such is the case of "rags and linen", all this through the use of water mills, a very thick paste was created. and "grey" in color, this would be the "raw material" that then goes through a laminating and drying process! From those times to the present, the process has not changed much! On the contrary, an attempt was made to create a more ecological industrial system! the original color of the paper is a "brown" color similar to papyrus since it is the color of the bark, to create a white, gray or any other color paper, products that dye the paper are used!😮😮🤎

Just like the Chinese, our society is creating better quality and more ecological paper over time, to the point that there are papers made from recyclable material, then we created in the 80s a paper that can be used for photocopying, we can go to a bookstore and get us with paper of any size, texture, color! Let's say that there are papers for every requirement!💥💥

I lived a unique experience inside this museum that is in the center of Portugal, very close to Porto! I learned a lot within the facilities, I was able to see how the paper manufacturing process was in all its stages and I was even able to see a video of how people worked in a water mill that was next to a river! Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something new!🤩🤩
