Another fortnight has passed by, and it was time for my check-up with Dr. Paul over at Columbia Asia PJ. We aimed to catch an E-hailing ride by 10 am for our 10:30 am appointment. But, oh boy, the prices these days! We tried our luck with Grab (wallet-draining!), InDrive (driver-less), and AirAsia Ride (also, driver-less). In the end, we still have to choose Grab despite the hefty prices and we found ourselves on the road around 10:30 am, navigating the bustling morning traffic.
By the time the clock hit 11 am, we were at the hospital. The familiar faces at the reception greeted us with warm smiles, and we exchanged some light banter. First stop? The X-ray room. After a 20-minute session capturing the state of my ankle, it was consultation time.
Dr. Paul, after examined the X-ray report, he wasn't entirely convinced about setting my ankle free yet. So, it seems I've got another two-weeks more of recovery. Safety first, right?
With another appointment locked in for the fortnight ahead, we wrapped up the formalities and realised it was already 12:30 pm - lunch o'clock! Our choice? Ramen Bar Shishido at the Gasket Alley. For those in the know, this spot is a motorcyclist's hang out area with showrooms like Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield, Vespa, and more gracing the vicinity together with restaurants and cafes around the corner.
A mere 50 steps later, we were soaking in the intriguing Japanese décor of Ramen Bar Shishido. The quirky traffic light system indicating the restaurant's capacity caught my eye. The menu? Extensive! Among the intriguing dishes was an "Ice Cream Ramen" - which is not my cup of tea, but hey, maybe someone else favourite!
Despite the lunchtime buzz, the restaurant wasn't overflowing. Our food arrived promptly, and I must say, the BBQ Pork Belly Ramen was a delight. Tender, flavorful meat in a broth that struck the right balance - not too oily. After a satisfying meal, we lounged a bit, soaking in the ambiance. Being homebound isn't easy, as I realised during my COVID isolation (2 weeks)
Time strikes 2pm, and fatigue began to set in. With my leg in its current state, it was time to head back. Until next time, be safe out there and have a nice weekend.
