Hello everyone, I hope you are well and have a nice day. Today I invite you in Rome, Italy a beautiful city which can look back on almost 3,000 years of history, art, architecture and culture. Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum are evidence of the past power of the Roman Empire. First we walk along the Colosseum, know as the Flavian Amphitheatre, a symbol of the ancient Roman Empire. Was built between 70 - 80 AD under the empors, of brick and clad in travertine stone, it was divided in five levels and could host more than 50,000 people.
An architectural marvel primarily used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.
Inside, with entry 25 Euro, the Colosseum you will finde pages of history and a sense of grandeur that one filled the arena. Also you can still see the ruins of the hypogeum, the undrground complex.
The hypogeum have two levels of undrground tunnels and chambers where gladiators, animals, stage props are kept before their final dramatic entry.
the views from the top levels are spectacular and offer a unique perspective of the surrounding landmarks in Rome.
Even after centuries of decay, the size of the Colosseum is striking. From the top you realizehow massive this structure is. The vastness of the arena below, now a mixof ruins and reconstruction, feels almost surreal.
Rome is an open air museum, with art and architecture on almost every corner it is just a nice place to see and visit and appreciateits beauty.
Have a beautiful day!
