Today I invite you to the Munot fortress in Schafhaussen, a prominent landmark dating back to the 16 th century. Next to the Rhine Falls, the landmark of Schaffhausen in Switzerland, situated on a hill overlooking prud to the old town and the Rhine River for more than 400 years.
The Munot is surrounded by a vineyard of around 76 acres planted with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris varieties grapes. This results depending every year, between 5000 and 7000 liters of wine.
I'm really getting a bit tired at the top, luckily we've had good weather for a nice rest with amazing views.
The Munot fortress has extremely imposing walls and a gigantic arched structure that looks like it was built to last forever.
To get to the Munot, you have to climb some steeps. Part of the access routes lead up to a challenging path. The trail to the top of the Munot is the with medieval cobblestones and about of 15 percent gradient. On the top awaiting you beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area.
