The New Year's Capital of Russia 2025 (14 pics)

in #hive-1637723 days ago

On January 7, 2024, Suzdal handed over to Kirov the symbol of Russia's New Year's capital - a crystal snowflake. This means that Kirov has become the "New Year's Capital of Russia 2025".
The New Year's Capital of Russia project has been implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation since 2012. Kirov became the 13th city to receive the status of Russia's New Year's capital.
Autumn and December of last year turned out to be abnormally warm. When, at the end of November, the city's Theater Square began to be decorated and prepared for New Year's events, there was not even a smell of snow, on the contrary, there were puddles on the square. I think the organizers were ready for such an unusual December and came up with a weather-appropriate design for the city. Of course, we are used to seeing snowmen and ice statues on such days, but this year they were out of the question.

This year, the Christmas tree structure was installed not only in the central Theater Square but also in Spasskaya Square. It has become fashionable to make light tents rather than simple Christmas trees. It looks very interesting, but many consider it a controversial decision, especially for our forest region. I also want to see a Christmas tree.
Last summer, the Gates of the North were installed on Spasskaya Square. An interesting solution to attract tourists. This immediately revitalized the former wasteland, which began to look well-groomed and beautiful.

The firebird is a symbol of this New Year in our city. These fabulous birds can be seen all over the city. At first, I thought it was a publicity stunt by a construction company, but later I realized that I was mistaken.

Wow, an innovation for our city is the shopping stalls on the pedestrian street Spasskaya.
In 2024, the city officially turned 650 years old, and as part of the celebration of this date, Spasskaya Street was closed to cars and became pedestrian-friendly every Saturday and Sunday, and various festive events were held on it. On December 7, an exhibition of small Christmas trees from all regions of Russia was officially opened on this street. But I found it more interesting to set up stalls where you could buy local goods, sweets, honey, cheese, meat delicacies, gingerbread, fast food, and drinks.

This young man came up with a very interesting solution to attract customers.
People lined up to try the pies baked in a real Russian oven.

Volodarsky Street. It is also partially pedestrian. There is another park on this street. Apollo. In summer, children have fun here, but in winter, adults also have fun with children.

We are leaving the main New Year's street, but we still see the symbol of the new year - the fir tree. And the Soviet legendary Volga car.

I have already mentioned that December turned out to be abnormally warm, as well as the beginning of January. But after a two-hour walk, I want to sit in a cozy restaurant and enjoy delicious food and drinks.
We chose the Georgian restaurant Mama Toma. I now recommend this place to all my friends.

The New Year and Christmas holidays of 2025 have already become history. Today is January 14th. In Russia, the Old New Year is celebrated on this day, the last New Year's holiday.
Ryazan will be the New Year's Capital of Russia next year.

Friends, I tried to tell you a little about my city, which celebrated its 650th anniversary for almost a year. More precisely, I told you about only one day, namely December 29, which was the first day of the New Year holidays, which this year had 11 days.

Hello! Thank you very much for posting in the Worldmappin Community 😃.

We noticed that you included more than one PIN code in the post. This is not necessary and can lead to double pinning. If you are writing about a trip with different points of interest, it is advisable to indicate only one PIN of the most important place or central location.

Double pinning can lead to problems for our curation, so if you keep doing it we can not guarantee you to be considered for our daily Travel Digest.

We recommend that you obtain the code either from https://worldmappin.com/, or by selecting the location directly on the small map at the bottom of the text editor in the PeakD interface.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team on our Discord channel.

Cheers!

Очень красиво! Световой шатёр мне, пожалуй, нравится - зимой хочется, чтобы было больше света.
