Welcome to Pennington Beach, South Coast Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa.
Come...let me take you on a little bit of an excursion down the South Coast, a round 74 km from Durban.
My friend @lizelle and her hubby Arthur, invited my hubby and I to come along on a drive to Winkle Spruit, a little coastal town in Kwa Zulu Natal, to pick up Lizelle's drivers license.
When we got to the Licensing Department, they were closed due to load shedding (power outage), which is a huge pain up the anus, excuse my language, caused by mismanagement and corruption of Eskom Power Station employees.
Any way...no worries, we took a drive along the beautiful South Coast, and landed up at Pennington Beach Café, which is situated inside a conservancy on the beach.
The sound of the waves and the fresh breeze from the beautiful Indian Ocean, is enough to calm the soul, the sea has such a exhilarating effect on me.
Pennington is a small coastal town on the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa.
It is also known for it's dairy farming and sugar cane fields.
Holiday makers flock to the beach during the holiday season to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The area abounds with bird and animal life. One can also enjoy the tranquility of the place, thanks to the local pioneers of conservation who planted indigenous trees and plants, creating trails and walks for the enjoyment of nature lovers.
The Beach Café over looking the sea, offers typical home made South African cuisine.
Unfortunately, they also had load shedding so couldn't serve their full awesome menu.
Omg!...well, at least we could have fish grilled on the coals or a hamburger with salads...no chips, (what a let down).
Anyway, we enjoyed the company, and of course the the scenery.
What more could one wish for on a gorgeous sunny day with amazing friends.
Pennington Beach is a very popular destination for holiday makers. It's an ideal place to spend with family, especially children, where they can safely swim in the tidal pools.
A man enjoying the pool under the African sun...awesome!.
The sand dunes adorned with beautiful indigenous flora.
Beach houses in the distance on the hill, over looking the sea.
Oh!...if only I could afford one of those Lol!.
One can watch the whales and dolphins play in the waves out at sea from the wooden sun deck on the beach.
Pennington Beach is the most relaxing and scenic holiday resort in Kwa Zulu Natal, and is well run by dedicated conservationists.
The Beach Café is only a few steps away from the beach. After a hearty meal, one could go for a long stroll along the cool ocean.
Well!...like nature calls, I needed the loo...I was so impressed by the art work on the wall, each wooden fish hand carved and beautifully displayed on the wall, depicting the sardine run which occurs during May to July of each year.
The South Coast has a rich blend of fish species like, Barracuda, Garrick, Sharks and Salmon.
Well...we've come to the end of our little excursion, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did sharing it with you.
Until next time...Happy Exploring.
Happy Beach Day
