T G I F !
In my mind, after I clocked off from work, I've been surely happy and grateful because it's gonna be my rest day from school and work. With that reason, when I got invited for a drink by my teammates, I agreed without flinching.
Well, we do that just once a month when everybody got some extra budget from the bonuses. They also don't drink that much, just 2-3 buckets and then, they'll enjoy singing in the karaoke machine. When it's 8:00 already in the morning, they'll go home. I was just thinking of knowing them more and have fun a little. But then, when I almost finished my first bottle of beer, my brother called me.
Gosh! I completely forgot that I have to meet my mother in my hometown in that morning. Haha!
I rushed to the bus terminal, and gladly, there was one bus that was ready to go. The travel time going to my hometown by bus would be around 45 minutes. It's not that far, and I don't have to walk few kilometers before arriving home because we're going to the Municipality Hall, not our house.
Taxes And Crop Insurance
...and, this was the purpose of our meeting today!
My mother is now 64 years old with poor eyesight and declining health concerns. She can't those documents clearly anymore, that's why I have to guide her. In the future, she might be retiring completely from processing these documents because it wouldn't be suitable for her age to travel that long. So, I think it would be good that I should be learning these things work starting from now.
Fortunately, my tolerance with alcohol was a bit higher and I wasn't affected by that bottle of beer that I drank before meeting my mother. Or else, I could be dancing my way down here.
I seldomly go home, and for some reason, I haven't checked the offices and establishments here for a few years now. At least, there are some changes happening now even though it's just few.
We have now new gymnasium and the municipality hall is completely renovated. The local parish here is also beautified. However, the plaza beside the gymnasium looks empty. Just a few benches for people to stay but the playground wasn't here anymore. Mom said that it was moved near the Bay Walk area.
Baywalk Under Construction
I have a cousin who lives here near the area. Sometimes, I could see her posts on her social media that she was taking a walk here with her family during afternoon and watch the sunset. It looks neat, simple and majestic based on her photos. Since I was already here and the baywalk area is just a few steps ahead, I asked Mom and my baby girl to accompany me there to have a look of the changes that has been going on.
Everything I saw on social media is true. The area have massive spaces of grassy portions that is good for family picnics. There was also a stage at the center and it was said that every Saturday Night, different bands play here and throwing a party.
There wasn't much people going around when we came. I'm also very amazed by how the officials maintain this place. I've been looking around for few minutes but I couldn't see any single plastic trash or any other garbage. Despite being still under construction, the place was kept neat and tidy by the management here.
Surely, there were heavy equipment currently working not far from us and there are lots of huge stones piled up beside them. My Mom has an interesting back story about the stones. She said that the huge stones came from our Barangay. The contractors here bought the huge stones from the farmers and used that here for construction. Well, whether that's true or not, that would be beneficial to both parties. At least, it would clear the farmers' land and they could take profit from it while these contractors use it for building the baywalk area.
It would be nice to stay a little bit longer because the clean fresh air combined with the sea breeze is relaxing, and actually quite addictive. It far different from the air that we used have in the city. There's no pollution here, just pure nature. Even on the seashores, I haven't seen any garbage swept to the side by the waves. It's all clean, and I can only see the broken sea shells or oyster shells.
Hopefully, in the future, I could visit again with Mom and my kid to have a picnic in the place when this place is completely worked on and beautified. Anyway, that's it for today. Thanks for reading my blog!
