The heat index in the city these days is almost unbearable, people are still advised to stay indoors and classes were made online or shortened for safety purposes. Due to this specific reason also, it prompted us to have an unexpected getaway in search for a spot to cool down.
So how far can you go during your vacant hours?
This is totally unexpected, we planned where to go on the spot after lunch time. We don't have anything with us except our school bags, no swimwears, no extra clothes, no snacks, and no drinks. Since our friend have a motorcycle with him, we invited him for a trip near their area and gladly, his bike can fit the four of us. We're cramped but it worked. We even planned the getaway while travelling. Initially, we agreed to go to Pandanon Spring Resort but it suddenly changed along the way when we were near Santa Cruz of Murcia and about to leave Alegria of Murcia.
So we travelled from Fortune Towne - Bacolod to Granada, crossing over to Alangilan where we have passed by the famous Bantug Lake Ranch and the roads to Campuestuhan Highland Resort, turning right to the roads of Alegria until we have arrived here at Buro-buro Spring Resort.
Since we aren't familiar of the way up here, we almost got lost. Thanks to the locals whom we have asked for guiding us the way. The path leading to the spring isn't noticeable at all, it was a roadside uncemented path that you'll probably think a dead end or that leads to a private property and shouldn't be trespassed.
That was a few minutes of walking until we have finally arrived here at Buro-Buro.
Welcome to Buro-buro Spring Resort!
This spring resort earned a reputation on Social Media for it's clear and clean waters as well as the tranquility and cool surroundings. Some people were disappointed after traveling to such a distance and just arriving to nothing as what they have seen on Instagram. Well, I'm neutral about it. Although it is famous, I haven't seen any pictures related to this place before, so I didn't really know exactly what to expect or to get disappointed from. All I know is that Murcia City is extravagant with the nature's resources and a perfect spot to revitalize and reconnect with nature.
And of course, the first thing to do is to take pictures as a memento before anything else!
The cool breeze of air was long greeting us on our way here, and having to feel it stationary, I think I just want to find a cottage below to sleep soundly and also to savor the calmness of the environment. Nothing noisy except from the flowing waters on the river and the Karaoke from cottages.
Now here, let's cut the chase and let us share the cool, vibrant, clear, and refreshing spring of Buro-buro.
I've been asking my friends Gizelle and Luther since they are living here in the same city of the why is it called Buro-buro. They aren't sure either, but we have a wild guess that maybe it is because of the bubbling of waters (buro-buro sang tubig; Hiligaynon dialect) that came from a spring underground; hence, it was called Buro-buro.
This is what we have seen as we went down the steps. This spring resort is situated beside the riverbanks between the two mountains. It is why the place isn't that accessible to all visitors unless they have a service vehicles. Social media has great help advertising this resort, and from words of mouths of tourists who have experienced its wonders also. It's also a reason why it is mostly visited disregarding its geographical location.
The waters were tempting due the coldness is certain from the gushing breeze. Without any extra clothes, we were still determined to sim since it was our sole intention of going here. Since the boys have extra shorts and shirts because we just came from a Basketball practice, but I don't have one because I think I'll be going home straight after the class.
We have crossed this bridge made of bamboo poles since the comfort room is across the river. It surely have brought back memories, though. We had one at home back then.
In just a while, we're jumping into the pool already, indulging ourselves with the coldness of the waters. But first, we have shivered before we could enjoy this much. It's surely chilling! Once you're body have adapted with the temperature, you can enjoy swimming and soaking here as much as you want.
If you don't feel like swimming in the pool, you can also roam around the resort and soak in the river, or maybe just drink and chill in your huts just like some people there. It's just that we have longed for a cooler surroundings that's why we swim to our hearts' content.
You can also have a foot massage here just by soaking your feet in the waters, and the small fishes will start eating away all the dead skins. However, you have to be a little tough if you want that therapy a little longer. It's tickling, and I couldn't withstand it for a minute. So I went away and swim at the other pool.
Back to Bacolod
Murcia is indeed the home of wonders. It's not just famous for having Mambucal Resort and Tinabu-ay Festival, but also with its natural wonders and relaxation.
A trip here is a therapeutic escape from the stress and bustles of the city life, as well as the pollutants in the surroundings. The sea in the city is a good place to revitalize but due to the lack of discipline of the locals, different kinds of garbage are piling up on the seashore and the waters aren't safe to swim with. I couldn't convince myself to swim in the dirty waters even though the heat index is scorching hot.
Gladly, on the other side of the city life, there are mountains and rivers around. There are lots of healthy and safe options to chill and relax aside from the unmaintained and polluted sea. It's always nice to go back here and swim in the rivers. Take note, the entrance fee is very affordable. It only ranges from Php 10 to Php 20 depending on the resort. Famous highlands can worth Php 150 to Php 250 but it is because they have lots of amenities unlike this simple spring resort that we had been with.
This is the current Murcia district. We waved goodbye for now, but we'll be right back here for sure. Until our next destination! Have a goo day, and thanks for reading.
