Happy weekend, amazing people!
Well, I'm back from my whirlwind month of running around like a chicken with its head cut off, and I'm ready to share some of my amazing experiences. Remember that last post where I was gushing about our new business venture? Let's put that on hold for a minute and rewind the clock to a recent getaway that had me completely smitten. I'm talking about Alaia by Balai Patio, a brand-new glamping spot in my hometown, San Juan, La Union. You can find this hidden gem in Barangay Taboc, just a 15-minute drive from our place. I stumbled upon it on social media, and let me tell you, it was love at first scroll! Beachfront, surrounded by lush greenery—it was practically begging me to visit. So, when my husband came home for a quick vacation last month, Alaia was our first stop. We had a family lunch there, and I was instantly captivated by the tranquil atmosphere. It was like stepping into a peaceful oasis, a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Get ready my friends, and let's go on adventure together.
I'm a local, born and raised in this beach town, but even I had a bit of a struggle finding Alaia. It's a brand new spot, tucked away from the usual tourist hotspots, so even the locals were a bit clueless.
I tried everything to get us there. I hired a trike, asked around, and even relied on my trusty Waze and Google Maps apps. But it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack! The place is nestled in a quiet corner, away from the main tourist strip. I was starting to get a little frustrated lol, but then, like a beacon in the wilderness, I spotted a tiny sign along the road. It was like a sign from the travel gods! My heart skipped a beat, and I knew I was on the right track. And that's how we finally reached Alaia. It was a bit of a challenge, but that's part of the fun, right? Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones that take you off the beaten path and lead you to hidden gems.
Okay, just imagine we're pulling up this glamping site, and it was drizzling a bit. But no worries, the crew was there to greet us with umbrellas! Now, I'm not one for being treated like royalty, so I politely declined the umbrella-holding service. "No, I got it!" I said, feeling a little silly but determined to keep things casual. As we walked towards the entrance, my daughter's eyes lit up like Christmas lights. She was mesmerized by the whole scene, and honestly, so was I! My husband, ever the cool dude, gave a nod of approval. "This place is pretty rad," he said, and I couldn't agree more.
Alaia is seriously cool. The glamping tents are modern, spacious, and decked out in chic beige and white tones. Each tent has its porch with comfy seating, and I couldn't resist snapping a few photos. They've got tents for solo travelers, couples, small groups, and even larger gatherings. We headed straight for the picnic or dining tables under the trees. It was past noon, and our stomachs were rumbling. Facing the tables was a fire pit with cozy bonfire chairs. I can just imagine how magical it would be to sit around a bonfire on the beach at night. The setting was stunning, with the beach stretching out before us. And speaking of the beach, it's huge! Not crowded at all, which is a huge plus. We were the only group there that day, which made it feel even more peaceful. The whole area has a serene vibe, with the wide expanse of beach and the gentle sound of waves crashing. The accommodations are okay, and everything feels well-planned and stylish. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the swing bench before the outdoor dining tables – it was the perfect spot for a little relaxation.
It was a truly amazing experience and a perfect day with my family. Alaia is a hidden gem, and I can't wait to go back! Are you fond of glamping too? Until next time, my friends and have a fantastic day to you all. Thank you for stopping by!
