Hello dear hive friends!
I haven been struggling to keep up with blogging and being active here on hive. I felt like time is running so fast that 24 hours in a day isn't enough to finish all the task I set to finish in a day. It is hard to keep balance and I always find myself too tired after a day's grind. I at least set a goal to write blogs on weekends. So I am back after a short hiatus on blogging.
For today's blog I am taking you to a relaxing weekend we had a few weeks ago. Now as I look back, I can't believe it happened just weeks ago but it felt like it happened long time ago. I guess, I am too immersed with work. Now,I feel I need another relaxation so badly.
Anyways, I take you to a local resort located in the outskirts of Hilongos, Leyte.
The place is owned by a distinguised personality in town. This resort is limited to the public the reason we need to get a reservation of the place first. Once we made the reservation, we had the place for ourselves since they do not allow walk in customers. So if you want to have a private time with friends or family, this place is perfect.
Though I prefer beach resorts more than mountain resorts, this place has its own alluring charm. It is away from the busy towns and not many public vehicles are in route to this area. It was a short travel from the main highway and the road is paved. So going there was a relaxing ride.
The weather was beautiful with blue skies and cottony clouds. Upon arriving at the resort, what struck me was its ambiance. It was quiet, private with a a refreshing sight and fresh air. It is located in a river bank providing us an enchanting view of the river.
I immediately run to the riverside to a fantastic view of ducks swimming on the shallow waters of the river. It had not rained for weeks causing the river to run dry. It also exposed the smooth whitish rocks of the riverbed.
On the opposite side of the river is a hill. I could see some sort of human activity or it could be because of nature. I can't really tell the difference. But it could have provided a better scenery without that bare area.
The other part of the river provided a much better view. I love how how green the vegetation was which matched very well with the blue sky and white clouds.
After savouring the beauty of the river area, we went to our cottage for lunch. We shared sumptuous foods as everybody brought something to the table. I shared in my previous post the delicious and mouth-watering food everybody brought for everyone to share. After eating lunch, they kept the fun rolling by taking on the karaoke. It's never a fun gathering without karaoke.
While someone was singing, the others were dancing.
Some of us were relaxing at the pool side under the shade of a tree.
The resort has three swimming pools, children's pool, jacussi and the main swimming pool. The water in the pool was so clear, clean and inviting. I could hardly say no to swimming in it.
There were at at least three more cottages there but we only paid for one so we just stayed in one of the cottages.
This triangular cottage design is becoming a trend now.
Checking the attic-like room above, this is the stairs going up coz I am fond of stairs like this and having an attic room.
The room above has a double-decker bed and a lovely view of the resort.
Another type of cottage is this bahay kubo(nipa hut) type.
Another nice feature of the resort is this bench under a large tree. How relaxing it is to be sitting under a tree and just feeling the cool breeze touching you skin.
After roaming around, it was time to go swimming. I wasn't planning to go for a swim but as I said earlier, the pool was so clear and blue, it was tempting everyone to have a dip. Now this photo proved that I got tempted after all. 😄 Well, it was a good decision. The water seem to wash away my stress. Swimming in the water was a good exercise for the body.
I hope you enjoy weekend too. Have a great day dear readers.
