If you love studying and nature, then this place is for you. Hello dear hivers! I would like to take you to a tour around what I considered my second home, my college alma mater.

Visayas State University is a premier state university in the Visayas. It is located in the City of Baybay, Leyte. It is a leading global university in agriculture and allied fields, flanked by Mt. Pangasugan, a high mountain range and the Camotes Sea. It is considered the most beautiful educational campus in the Philippines.

Studying and immersing in nature is the way of life here. Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by the beauty of nature. From the magnificent view of Mt. Pangasugan to the calm and inviting Camotes Sea, it will fullfill every love you feel - love for the sea, the mountains, the trees, the flowers, the beach, name it!

After I graduated, I have visited the school a few times. The photos I post here are taken during my visits to the school years ago. It may not give justice to how beautiful this place is but still it will showcase the beauty of the campus.

The campus is divided to the upper campus and the lower campus demarcated by the national road. The upper campus is flanked by Mount Pangasugan while the lower campus by the Camotes Sea.

Let's start with my home here in VSU, the dormitory located in the upper campus where I stayed most of my college years. It is the largest dormitory in VSU which has a capacity of 266. It's building has two wings, Wing A and Wing B with three floors and 4 floor levels. This dormitory is called Sampaguita Ladies Hall. It stands on the foot of a hill and facing a ricefield, the Molave Hill and Mt. Pangasugan. It is surrounded by lush green trees and grasses. The students here jokingly call it "Titanic" because during the night when the lights are on, it looks like a ship floating on the sea. img_0.8542054599841762

Going up to the hills is the beautiful Molave Hill. You can find there some of the oldest and largest trees. You can also find the Olympic size swimming pool used during ths SCUAA games.

As you go down from the Molave Hill and walk around the Animal Science Department and around the gym you'll find these beautiful scenery you just can't get enough of.

You think you have seen so much beauty already? There is more! Next stop is my favorite area of the school, the Ecopark. As you enter the gates of the school, a few steps away you'll find a miniforest. It is an area full of lushful trees. Some are large old trees and some are younger trees of different species. There are benches under the trees where you can relax and just breathe in the fresh oxygen. This is also a perfect place for students who are waiting for their next class who don't want to go back to their dorm or boarding houses. Around this area are school buildings of the different department.

At the opposite side of the the ecopark, there is a gazeboo and arcs with vines growing on it. Looks like a perfect place for weddings. As you walk through this arcs into the gazebo it feels like you are walking down the aisle to your wedding.

Going up, you can find the admin building. The admin building is where we do transactions such as paying our tuition fees and getting our TORs. But to go there, you have to take an uphill walk that will surely make you sweat. Then, if you are going inside the admin building you'll have ta climb up a long stairs. What a great way to exercise! But every sweat you drop is worth the beauty before your eyes.

Just beside the admin building is an area where there are many coniferous trees. I like this area because it felt like I am in a different country. If only we have the winter season.

There are still so much beautiful areas of the school I was not able to capture. And it would take 4 years to fully explore around the school. Hahahh! And this is just the upper campus. You haven't seen the lower campus yet. I hope I'll be back next time to show more of its beauty. I miss my alma mater.

This school taught me not just the knowledge and skills that I need to take on the next steps of my dreams but it taught me to appreciate and love mother nature more.

Have a refreshing weekend everyone. Thank you for dropping by.
