Hello everyone! I just got back from the most amazing weekend in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India, and I have to tell you all about the trip. I had a long weekend coming up, so my colleague and I decided why not use it in the mountains when you live in Delhi. We looked for places to go and decided to go to Mussoorie. We easily planned places to visit.
George Everest Mountain. It was the first thing on our checklist, and boy, what a wild ride it was!
So, picture this: we’re all curled up and just stuffing our mouths with some delicious Momo and Maggi (because, let’s be real, you can’t start hiking on an empty stomach, right?). We booked a taxi from our Hosteller, met some like-minded travelers in the Hosteller only, and then proceeded to our starting point. I bounce in my seat, "How hard can this be?" Spoiler alert: I was in for a shock!
*Now, I have to admit – I’m no Bear Grylls. This was my first proper hike, and about ten minutes in, I was already wondering if I had made a big mistake. My legs were burning, I was panting like a dog, and I swear the mountaintop was moving instead of getting closer. But this is where having awesome friends comes in handy. They were encouraging me, yelling jokes, and basically dragging me up that hill that I didn’t want to leave.
After what felt like forever (but maybe only two hours), we finally reached the top. And guys, I’m not exaggerating when I say this – the scene really gave me goosebumps. It was like floating above the clouds! I stood there, in silence, my face hung there and just took in everything as far as the eye could see, mountains, hills so green it seemed unreal. I felt like crying with tears of joy– it was hands down the best view I’ve ever seen in my life.
The whole walk up and down took us about three hours. By the time we returned, I was exhausted. But you know what? I felt so grateful to be alive, to be able to witness the view. There's something great about pushing yourself.
Looking back, I can not trust I almost chickened out. Sure, it was hard, and there have been moments after I wanted to give up and move backward. But with help from my buddies (and a variety of willpower), I made it. And what a feeling of achievement! Worth every aching muscle and breathless second.
So, if you're ever in Mussoorie and fancy a bit of a journey, give George Everest Peak a try. Just make sure you've got a few wonderful friends with you, a terrific pair of footwear, and perhaps Some snacks (believe me, you'll need the strength). Oh, and keep in mind your camera – you will need to don't forget that view forever!
Stay tuned for more stories from my Mussoorie trip.
Let me know, what you guys think of it💜
Till then, goodbye💫
