Lloret de Mar, a small town on the coast of Spain, north of Barcelona, in the famous Costa Brava area, is a famous holiday destination during the summer months.

There are several beaches, the larger of which is Lloret de Mar, the city's main beach. Like the other beaches, located in smaller bays and the large city beach at both ends, it is surrounded by rocks.

At one end, steep steps lead to
Castell de Sant Joan.

When you climb to the top of the castle, you come across a coffee bar, which has been superbly renovated, and from which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the beach, the city and the sea.

In an extension of the path next to the castle, very steep steps lead further over the rocks high up the coast.
I read the road sign, that way, at a distance of 11 km, there is Tossa de mar, a small town that I wrote about here.

We gave up such a long walk and after taking photos from one of the beautiful viewpoints, we returned to the beach.

The sandy beach was not full of bathers, because the weather was not ideal for swimming.
These divers didn't mind the cold water, but the bathers did.

Because of the wind that was blowing, even the boats were dragged ashore.

A beautiful promenade stretches parallel to the beach.
Part of the promenade is drawn into the city and emerges at a villa, and the market that is set up there.
We stop for a short time at the market, pass by the bars, pass by the pavement with handprints of the rally drivers, which I wrote about here, and go out to the other side of the beach.
I take the opportunity to take a nap, while behind me the waves hitting the shore create a loud roar.

We follow the path along the coast and come out on the terrace with the sculpture "Sailor Woman".
She is also called the Lady of Lloret de Mar, and represents a sailor's wife who is waiting for her husband to return from the sea.

In the continuation of the path, towards other beaches, we go past the rocks against which the waves crash. We come across a coffee bar under the palm trees, right on the coast.

Since we finished our drinks at Castello, we don't take a break here. I climb the rocks and take pictures of the water waves breaking on the rocks.
We take a break sitting on a bench on the path on the way back to the city and enjoy the view to the sea, even though the weather is not nice and cloudy...

The trip to Lloret de Mar pleased us because the weather was not for swimming and the beach, but ideal for a walk...
