Hello people and pinmapplers!
Once again we return to the impressive and beautiful city of Stockholm that I wanted to share in two posts: the most relevant places seen from the Baltic Sea itself which is one of the protagonists of this Scandinavian city and from the asphalt contemplating the elegant and impressive buildings and much more.
But there is much more, yes, it is an exceptional, quiet, beautiful and clean city and what caught my attention among many things is the connection that its inhabitants and the city itself have with nature. Certainly the urban environment itself does not seem so as it is surrounded by the sea and is formed between so many islands but there is more.
Also in addition to blue there is green, a lot of green when there is no snow and simply walking we can discover peaceful places that seem to take us out of that big city reality, and as if we had gotten lost a very short distance away crossing to one of the small islands we find ourselves in a picturesque area with a hill and a small path that takes us to Kastellet.
Kastellet
Kastellet is a small castle with reddish tones that stands out there on a small island in the Baltic Sea practically in the heart of Stockholm, as I say, not even outside, it is very easy to reach in a short time, like a walk through another larger island connected with a bridge. And there we can continue walking along that path also accompanied by other small houses, like a small rural museum town, and some totally natural corners, as if we had gone to spend the day in a forest without almost leaving the city, and thososose surroundings suddenly becomes charming.
Panoramic Views
We can realize the peculiar physiognomy that Stockholm has, and that mix between beautiful period buildings, sea, boats and serene Nordic beauty from above. If we go a little further east this time we will see a tall telecommunications tower called Kaknästornet, which we can climb to enjoy the views of this special city.
VASA Museum
And if we think of nature, in Stockholm we think of the sea, and when we think of the sea, all those series of Vikings plying these waters in their typical ships come to mind. Well, on one of the most visited islands with more things to see and more museums, as I mentioned previously in another post, there is the VASA Museum where we will find an entire large Viking ship from the 17th century, I think...
It turns out that it happened worse than the Titanic sank as soon as it set sail so they picked it up and put it there as a sample. It would be a matter of bad weight calculations, but the point is that we can see up close the many details of it, everything that was decorative although the light was dark in some areas.
Parks Life
Afterwards we returned to the open area because I was lucky that the weather was good, cold for me, but with the sun getting a little warmer every day there was a moment that really seemed like spring. And as I have mentioned, the inhabitants of Stockholm are connected to nature and when the sun's rays appear, they go out to all places, even on the stairs of buildings to feel that warm sensation on the skin of the face, a recharge of vitamin D which is really very necessary and they clearly enjoy it.
They especially enjoy it outside when they go out on weekends and at any time in the many parks around the city, not being necessary to crowd into the largest or most popular parks but rather, in the parks of each neighborhood people come out to talk and feel the good weather drinking something on terraces or on the grass. I was able to sunbathe in Stockholm lying on the grounded green grass and looking at the blue sky. Stockholm is a nice, lively, bright and natural city.
